Located to the south of the Sea of Galilee, Beth-Shean is one of the oldest cities in Palestine, the region was extremely fertile making it a very popular
settlement. Eighteen different levels of settlement have been found by archeologists.
Biblically, Beth-Shean marked the place where Saul and his sons' bodies were hung on the
city wall by the Philistines during the time of David.
Beth-Shean has been inhabited for the last 6,000 years.
