This eight foot long inscribed stone is the top stone on the southwest corner of the Temple Mount. It was excavated in 1968. It had an inscription which read:
"to the place of trumpeting." The start of Shabbat and festival days were signaled here by the priests blowing the shofar. The stone toppled to the pavement when the Romans
destroyed Jerusalem and the temple in 70 A.D.
