God's holiness is our standard for our moral character and our motivation for obedience to God. His commands are right, for He is right and therefore obedience to
God's Word will have a positive effect upon the believer. And, He expects us to pursue holiness: "Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy" (Leviticus
19:2, NIV); "But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy." (1 Peter 1:15
NIV).
When I approach God in prayer and worship am I utterly in awe of His holiness? Does that awe of holiness produce a fear or reverent attitude towards God?
Have I become complacent about sin in my life? Am I actively pursuing holiness? actively attempting to become more Christ-like?
What thoughts am I thinking that if I was in God's presence I would be embarassed? What actions would I be ashamed of if Jesus was physically with me?
