For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalms 100:5 NIV)
In the Old Testament, the word that describes God's attribute of faithfulness is "emunah" which means "firmness, steadiness, fidelity". God is
totally dependable. His word is good. He is faithful to every promise He has made. And His character never changes, it is steady and firm.
Application for Today:
When everything around me is shifting and changing...when people's actions and character seem to be changing ...I am assured that God does not change. His nature is
unchanging throughout eternity and therefore I can depend on Him and not be disappointed.
God's Word never changes. His promises to me are reliable. When it
seems like God is acting contrary to His nature I can go back to the Bible and see the Truth about His nature and His promises.
Do I believe more in my circumstances or in God's promises to me? Do I truly believe that God will be faithful to me with His promises? or do I really think that
God is like other people, saying one thing, but not really meaning it? What promise does God want me to claim that He has given me from His Word?
