Confessing Sins
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23 NIV)
God has every right to punish me for my sins, BUT. . .
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might
possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more
shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! (Romans 5:6-9 NIV)
God has every right to punish me for my sins, BUT. . .I have a relationship with Jesus Christ. I believe that He died in my place, He paid the price for my sins when He died on the cross.
I had made a commitment to be obedient to God and to His Word, the Bible. And because I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior, I also know that if I confess my sins to God, that He is
faithful and just and will forgive me of all my sins and cleanse me of all my unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
