The Uniqueness and Value of the Bible
“If we want to understand God, we must do it on His terms. If we
want to see God the way He really is, we must look to the place of authority - to Scripture and to Jesus Christ.”

The Bible is God’s written revelation of Himself. John 6:63 says: “The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.” In Deuteronomy 32:46-47 God
commands His people to: "Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you... command your children to obey carefully all the words of this
law. They are not just idle words for you they are your life..." (NIV) The Word of God is living, and brings life. As a disciple (or student) of Christ, it is
imperative to be reading the Bible.
Read 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Paul writes that Scripture is useful for 4 things. List them below.

There are no short-cuts to developing a deeper relationship with God. There is no replacement for spending time with Him in prayer and Bible Study. But, it
takes time, desire and discipline.
What are some of the hindrances that you or others you know face in reading the Bible?
