Everlasting Father

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (NIV) Isaiah 9:6

Your Hebrew lesson for the day: Everlasting Father is better translated as Father of Eternity. . .in Hebrew he who possesses a thing is called the father of it – father of knowledge meant one was intelligent; the father of strength meant he was strong; thus, the father of eternity meant Jesus was the eternal one.

He existed before all things (Colossians 1:17). He was in the beginning. . .all things came into being by Him (John 1:1, 3) . . . In Him was life (John 1:4) . . . and He is the exact representation of God (Hebrews 1:3).

There is nothing that Christ does not know. . .nothing is new to Him! He knows your thoughts, feelings, doubts, questions, frustrations, joys, challenges, temptations, focus. . . He knows all about you and still wants a relationship with you! And with that relationship He desires to bring you peace. . .for He is the Prince of Peace.
