Lost and Found

“For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.” So they began to celebrate. (NIV) Luke 15:24

The Father demonstrated His love for us by sending Jesus Christ, His only Son, His perfect Son, to die in our place. He paid the price for our sins with the death of His Son on the cross. The Father gave us a self-emptying demonstration of love. There is no greater display of love than the love displayed on the cross.

We were created by Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16). There are only two types of people in the world, those who have a relationship with Christ and those who don’t. If you don’t have a relationship with God, no matter how far away you may be from the Loving Father, He is eagerly waiting for you to come to Him. He is watching. He is waiting. He is ready. But, just as in the story of the younger son (Luke 15:11-32), God will not manipulate you or force His will upon you. We must see ourselves as we are, admit our own sinfulness, confessing our personal unworthiness to change our sinful condition. . .claiming our need for a Savior. . . and accepting a relationship with Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

It is love that moves God to reach out to the lost. . . it is love that enables one to look to Him in response.
