“If we want to understand God, we must do it on His terms. If we want to see God the way He really is, we must look to the place of authority–to Scripture and to Jesus Christ.” – Eugene Peterson in A Long Obedience
The Bible is God’s written revelation of Himself. John 6:63 says: The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. (NIV)
In Deuteronomy 32:46-47 God commands His people to “Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you… command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law. They are not just idle words for you they are your life…” (NIV)
