Hello from Johannesburg!
We have finally arrived in South Africa. It was a longer journey than we had planned. But, God’s hand and His sovereignty were all over it…
About 2 hours into our flight from Atlanta the flight attendant asked if there was a doctor or nurse on the plane. Amanda (a cardiac care nurse from our team) immediately volunteered to assist. An elderly woman was having heart pains. Incredibly, this was the same woman that Carol from our team had graciously wheeled around the Atlanta airport prior to our leaving. It was decided by the attending physician (who is a friend of Angela, our Lesotho connection) that we needed to land so that the woman could receive proper medical care. Amazingly we were just 100 miles due south of Bermuda. We landed in Bermuda and spent a good 2 hours there before taking off again for Africa. It was a detour, but also very evident that for some reason, Carol and Amanda were to play a part in the scenario.
We are all safe. We had numerous opportunities to share with others on the flight about what we were doing in Lesotho. All of us see God’s hand at work. And we are flexible with how and where God will use us here.
God is truly in control of all things! My prayer for you is that you too see His hand at work on a daily basis in your life!
