Enjoying lollypops with the Lesotho kids

I love getting to visit this class of preschoolers. There is an endless supply of laughs and smiles in this classroom. I always end up leaving with my heart full.

Last visit we were able to provide this classroom with a heater and rugs to cover the ground. In the winter the cement floors provide little insulation for the cold temperatures.

But, there is always joy in the hearts of these little ones.

It’s winter here in Lesotho, Southern Africa. Lesotho is an mountainous region where the temperatures drop low in the winter months and bring frequent snow storms. As I sit here in my hotel room, with a warm jacket on, I can’t help but wonder and pray for the many kids who are left cold tonight without heat and a warm blanket to sleep with.

Thanks to the many people who have made mittens and hats to keep the children warm during these winter months. They raise their hands, and I raise my heart in thanks for your generosity.

While in Lesotho I always try to introduce the kids to things they may never get to experience … this time, it was Kentucky Fried Chicken, boy did they love it! It’s the small things in life that can make a child’s world.

I am always thankful for the opportunity God has given me to invest in the lives of these children and hope that I can continue to introduce these kids to the many blessings God has given us to enjoy here on earth.
