Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. (NIV) James 1:27 Nearly 60% of the people in Lesotho live at poverty level…many families live on less than $1 a day. Nearly 1 of 3 children in Lesotho live as orphans. “Poverty is a great enemy to human happiness; it certainly destroys liberty, and it makes some virtues impracticable and others extremely difficult.” -Samuel Johnson There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land. (NIV) Deuteronomy 15:11 Help African children through a secure online donation |

Sing and Dance!
Cheer
It’s amazing how so many things that we take for granted in the US that are special treats for our kids in Lesotho. I’m not sure that I’ve ever enjoyed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich as much as I did on my last visit to Lesotho. I know that their smiles made the sandwiches taste extra yummy! The next time you sit down (or drive through) to grab a quick bite remember how precious a simple pb&j is to kids across the globe! ~ Mike
“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.” – J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit
Ease and Forget
“To ease another’s heartache is to forget one’s own.”
― Abraham Lincoln
Next month we will be providing hats, gloves, scarves and blankets to needy children in South Africa as they prepare for the bitter cold. Each winter pack costs $25 and helps to keep someone warm throughout the winter months. You can help with a secure online donation. Click here to help.
Charity
“Our prayers for others flow more easily than those for ourselves. This shows we are made to live by charity.”
― C.S. Lewis
Will you join us in helping the least of the least in Southern Africa? Learn how you can be involved here.
What will you do…?
What do you do when you live in a place that is freezing cold, and it’s hard to stay warm? You can’t turn on the heat. There is none. You can’t put on a warm jacket or blanket when you don’t have one. And you can’t slip under the warmth of a comforter at night when the only thing you have to sleep on is the cold cement floor.
Over the next two months our goal is to raise funds to purchase and then distribute hundreds of winter packs (hats, gloves, scarves, and blankets) to children in Lesotho and South Africa. Each pack cost us $25 to assemble and distribute. You can help us with this project through your donation and bring warmth to children who so desperately need it…
