Ice cream is a special treat for the kids. Nice for a hot day…and fills their tummies!

Encouragement Beyond Measure
Some of the children who we work with in Lesotho received special encouragement yesterday from families in the US. Our friends in America have been praying for specific children each day and extended their love, and Christ’s love, to the child by sending them a letter of encouragement, a picture of themselves, and a Bible.
I wish you could have been there with me to watch! The children’s eyes were wide as they realized the letters and pictures were just for them. Some of the older ones (whose English is better) sat off to themselves to read the letters. Others eagerly had the notes translated and listened with attentive ears. But, what was perhaps the sweetest moment was when a 12 year old boy, away from everyone, stroked his picture as he held it.
For all of you who wonder if you can make a difference in a child’s life 1000’s of miles away…the answer is YES!

Oh, Those Beautiful Pigs!
Pig rearing is an important part of our ministry in Lesotho. Having a successful pig business can raise a family out of poverty and provide a consistent means of income.
You may not think that pigs can be beautiful but these are. And the amazing this is that they don’t smell and are remarkable clean. Have to love those pinkies. Some are incredibly friendly!
Children’s Bible Study
The Lesotho kids are doing a Bible study from Luke 10:38-42 about Martha and Mary. Near the end of the video they are not only eager to answer the questions, they’re snapping their fingers to get attention! They sat there attentive for about an hour and a half.
A Good Old Time!
The older kids are wonderful with the younger ones. All play together. Look after one another. And care for each other. I wish this was true everywhere!
Easy Entertainment
Jumping rope entertained the kids for hours. The only problem is that I think they need a heavier jump rope!
Lunch for All!
What do you feed 50 hungry kids for lunch? Hot dogs of course! Teboho and I went shopping early Saturday morning for our feast which consisted of 150 hot dogs and buns, 10 loaves of bread, juice, chips, and ice cream and cones. There were smiles all around and the food was devoured!
Balloons
Do you know how much mileage you can get out of balloons? You can fill them with water…fill them with air…toss them to one another…bat them in the air…or of course, pop them and giggle! The kids had days and days of fun with these!
